Anoushka Shankar - UCLA Royce Hall

Famed sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar is set to perform UCLA Royce Hall on Friday, April 19th at 8PM, in support of her new compilation album Reflections. Shankar’s performance has been described as “a mesmerizing listening experience offering a rich concoction of exotic sounds and emotions,” by the London Telegraph. She showcases her versatility of the sitar through cross-cultural dialogue, and through collaborations with many artists including Sting, M.I.A., Herbie Hancock, Joshua Bell, and Norah Jones. Shankar has recieved five Grammy Award nominations, and by the age of twenty became the youngest-ever nominee in the World Music Category. Zeal & Ardor (Manuel Gagneux) has announced a one-month North American tour this fall in support of Stranger Fruit. William Fitzsimmons - Spring 2018 US Tour

This spring, William Fitzsimmons will be joining Joshua Radin for a month-long US tour, including stops in New York City and Los Angeles. This is the first time Fitzsimmons will be back on the road since touring his well-received album William Fitzsimmons Live throughout North America, supported by Laura Burhenn of Mynabirds. Comprised of fifteen songs recorded live, the album spans Fitzsimmons’s career and also includes a special duet of Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” with Abby Gundersen. The Dustbowl Revival - Mimosa Music Series

The Dustbowl Revival will be headlining Music Supervisor Gary Calamar’s Mimosa Music Series: Gala Holiday Show, this Sunday, December 17th, upstairs at The Federal Bar in North Hollywood. Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly and James McAlister have recorded Planetarium, a 17-track collaborative album about the solar system. The 4AD album will be released June 9th and includes songs dedicated to different planets and entities within the universe. The framework for the project began in 2013, when Muhly received a commission from Muziekgbouw Eindhoven to create a new piece. The four performed a series of live shows together and now years later have crafted the original idea into something much bigger.
